ASPA Thanks Members Through New Years of Service Program

In the fall of 2015 the ASPA Executive asked the Communications and Public Relations Committee to begin working on a project that would see ASPA recognize our members for their years of service. This project was officially green-lighted by the ASPA Executive in January of this year.

The committee made a number of recommendations to the Executive regarding the recognition of our members service:

  1. Historically ASPA has only recognized your contributions upon your retirement. The committee recommended that ASPA expand that recognition to include the following service years: 5, 10, 15, 20, & 30 (Year 25 was not included because the University already recognizes your 25 years of service with a watch).
  2. The committee wanted this project to not just reflect your Years of Service to ASPA, but rather to recognize your service to the University. For Example, if you spent your first five years on campus in another bargaining unit before joining ASPA and you’ve been part of ASPA for 10 years, we would be recognizing you for your full 15 years of service.
  3. Every member being recognized each year will receive an email to indicate that they are being recognized and how they can claim their gift at the Annual General Meeting prior to the meeting.

We look forward to seeing you all at the Annual General Meeting on April 28, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. in room 241 in the Arts Building.
