Hello ASPA members,
As we celebrate Labour Day on September 2nd, we honour the history and deep importance of this day. The Toronto Printers’ Strike of 1872, a crucial moment in Canadian history, marked the beginning of the fight for better working conditions and workers’ rights, eventually leading to the very first Labour Day demonstrations and groundwork for many of the rights that we, as workers, have today.
In 2024, Labour Day is a powerful reminder of the progress we’ve made, and also a call to continue our collective action to ensure fair compensation, safe working conditions, and mutual respect in the workplace. We thank you for your ongoing commitment to these ideals! Together, we will continue this work to ensure that all our voices are heard.
