ASPA Staff

ASPA employs two (2) staff members to assist with providing member services and day-to-day operations. Learn more about these staff members below.

Member Services Officer (MSO)

In 2013, ASPA’s membership (then nearly 1,200 strong) approved the creation of a Member Services Officer (MSO) position. This role was established to support the Executive Committee, particularly the President, in responding to member concerns, complaints, and inquiries. The MSO’s primary responsibility is to assist members, while also overseeing matters related to the Collective Agreement and contributing to the day-to-day operations of ASPA.

The ASPA Executive Committee is pleased to announce the successful completion of its search for a new Member Services Officer. We are delighted to welcome Shayne Meggs to the role.

Shayne brings 16 years of experience as a teacher, including 11 years of active involvement with both the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation (STF) and the Saskatoon Teachers’ Association (STA). His extensive background in education and professional advocacy makes him a strong addition to the ASPA team.

Members are encouraged to reach out to Shayne with any questions or concerns at Shayne@aspasask.ca or by phone at (306) 966-2471. The ASPA office is located in Room 302, Kirk Hall.

Financial and Administrative Assistant

Angeline Hainstock joined ASPA in 2019 as the Financial and Administrative Assistant, succeeding the retiring Administrative Assistant, Annette Gellner. At that time, the position title was updated to better reflect the scope and responsibilities of the role.

In her position, Angeline provides administrative and financial support to the Executive Committee, including the President, Vice-Presidents, and Treasurer, as well as to the Member Services Officer and ASPA’s various committees. Her responsibilities include preparing agendas and minutes, coordinating meetings, maintaining SharePoint sites, responding to and directing inquiries by phone and email, performing data entry, and producing communications materials, among other duties.

Angeline is available in the office Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, in Room 304, Kirk Hall. She can be reached at angeline@aspasask.ca, through the main ASPA email at aspa@aspasask.ca, or by phone at (306) 966-2471.
