Your ASPA Executive and Bargaining Committee have been hard at work over the past several months preparing for this round of collective bargaining.
The Bargaining Committee is made up of the following members, who are responsible for developing proposals and making decisions on behalf of the committee:

Supporting the committee throughout the bargaining process are ASPA’s Member Services Officer, Shayne Meggs, and Financial and Administrative Assistant, Angeline Hainstock, who work closely with the committee and attend bargaining sessions in support roles.
ASPA has also once again retained Hugh Wagner to serve as External Co-Chair for bargaining. Hugh brings decades of union-side collective bargaining and labour relations experience and has been a valuable resource to ASPA in previous rounds of bargaining.
Earlier this summer, ASPA and the University met to establish and agree upon the ground rules that will guide this round of negotiations. With those discussions now complete, the parties have scheduled bargaining dates and are ready to begin formal negotiations.
The first bargaining session is scheduled for late September 2026, with additional dates currently planned for October.
As negotiations get underway, members will have an opportunity to hear directly from the Bargaining Committee. An information meeting will be held in mid-October to provide an overview of ASPA’s bargaining package, discuss the bargaining process, and answer members’ questions.
